If you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, "Move from here to there," and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you. ~Matthew 17:20

We sold our house! Let the adventure begin!!!

Awestruck, terrified and frantic; the first three adjectives to race through my mind when Brad called and said that we had sold our house.  We were so sure that after seven months on the market, our voyage into the land of keeping-your-house-clean-just-in-case mode was sure to last much longer.  But, somehow in the midst of life's chaos, a couple fell in love with our dream house and decided they could not live without it, and now we are planning our next adventure of living in the city.

Of course, the timing on this whole situation was not MY timing; somehow God's schedule and my schedule rarely coincide.  Whereas, I thought that the best plan would have been to sell our house last summer when Brad was finished with all of his projects and we were all ready to move to LA, obviously, God's plan is different and better.  So, we will be renting a house in Little Rock while we get Spencer ready for college and Brad will finish his current projects.  Then, a move to the state of sun and sand is definitely on our agenda.

Our last winter on the mountain was quite memorable and after a total of 11 days stranded due to snow and ice, we can honestly say that we had the BEST winter ever.

We used the sled and the toboggan...

We walked to Kanis so friends could pick us up to go in town...

and, we had marathon Monopoly games that Baby Kitty felt the need to supervise...

In the midst of Spencer's college prep, scholarship applications, selling our house and moving, Cole needed to be in Los Angeles so he flew out today and will be there for five weeks.  FIVE WEEKS.  Without me.  And when he does return home, it will be to a new house and a new room.
So many changes but does he look worried?

After ten years in our dream home, we are so excited to see where this new adventure will take us.  Stay tuned for all the fun!

"Praise the Lord, I tell myself, with my whole heart, I will praise his holy name.  Praise the Lord, I tell myself, and never forget the good things he does for me."
~Psalm 103:1-2

  1. It’s indeed exciting when your house finally sells, especially when it's been on the market for a while! Just like you, many things went through my head when we sold our house but we had to focus on the positives. It took us a while to adjust to a new life but now I wouldn't change it for the world!

  2. Congrats on selling your home! It's amazing how things can work out sometimes. God truly knows what is best and his timing is always perfect. Your story is a great reminder that sometimes we have to 'let go and let God.' Not only was it the perfect time for you, but also the couple that saw your home as well.
