If you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, "Move from here to there," and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you. ~Matthew 17:20

Wednesday & Thursday...Fun Galore!

Sorry I missed my update yesterday but we were so tired when we got back to the room last night, we went straight to bed.

So, here's a recap of all the fun we have had...

Wednesday morning, we decided to take a drive to the "Hollywood" sign.  Brad is now known as Mr. Navigation in our family.  The boy can find anything with a street map and an address!  The more we drive around this town, the more I like it.  I love the little out-of-the-way neighborhoods and the houses tucked into the hills.  So cool.

Getting a picture of the Hollywood sign required a little hiking.

I was worried about Spencer being able to get to the top...I shouldn't have been.  He was the first one to the top and ended up taking pictures for people who wanted family photos with their cameras.  I, on the other hand, didn't realize we were going to be hiking and I had on my bedazzled sandals which were pretty useless.

The views were amazing.  On the way down, we had another interesting encounter...with a limo!  The limo brought a girl, who was celebrating her 16th birthday and her entourage, to view the Hollywood sign.  Unfortunately, when it came time to leave, the limo drive had a little trouble turning around.

He ended up BACKING all the way down the road until he got to a driveway where he could turn around.  Only in LA!

Cole had three more interviews with agents so while he and Brad were gone, Spencer and I decided to walk to the movie theater at Universal Studios to see Green Lantern.  I think roundtrip, we probably walked 1 1/2 to 2 miles.  I have realized that I don't have to worry about Spencer...I am convinced he can do anything.

Today, we headed to the Santa Monica pier and beach.
We drove through the Hollywood Hills, went down Rodeo Drive and did a lot of sight-seeing before we got to the beach.

Oh my gosh, this place is gorgeous!

I would NEVER get tired of this view or the weather...it was 78 degrees with a nice breeze.  Cole and Brad got in the water (it was freezing!) but Spencer and I just layed out and watched all the "interesting" people.

Of course, someone had to be buried.  Glad it wasn't me.

Cole has gone to sit in on an acting class tonight with Connor, his Business Manager's son.  I imagine he will be gone until 8:30 or so so Brad, Spencer and I will figure out something to do.

Only two full days left of our vacation.  Stay tuned for more pictures.

Tuesday's Trek

We are still enjoying beautiful weather in LA and I am taking full advantage of it with my morning runs.  I keep thinking how hot it is going to be when I get back to Little Rock so I am almost giddy when I'm out...I think I scared a man this morning!

Yesterday was a full day.  We went to Hollywood Boulevard and visited The Guiness Book of World Records Museum and Ripley's Believe It or Not Museum.  Fun, fun fun.

We've done A LOT of walking and Spencer has done great.  We are so blessed that he is doing so well.

Spencer and Kobe Bryant in the Guiness Museum as the youngest player to start an NBA game (you know I had to ask Spencer to get this info!!!).

Cole in a replica of the fatest man that ever lived.  Think I'll pass on those garlic fries next time.

Superman is the most popular superhero and Cole is the most popular ______________ (fill in the blank!).

While Cole had his interviews with agents yesterday, Spencer and I hung out at the hotel.  The weather was perfect so we sat outside, read our books and watched the (interesting) people go by.  This city is very different.

Today, we're heading to the Lambo (Lamborghini) dealership (Cole keeps trying to talk Brad into a test drive!), doing some shopping and going to the "Hollywood" sign.  Cole has more interviews this afternoon so I think Spencer and I will head to the movies.

Can't believe it is already Wednesday.  I'm so thankful we are able to come out and have a family vacation and we'll pray about what God's plan is for us.  Hope ya'll have a great day.

Monday's Medele

When I think of vacation, I think of a beach, a comfortable beach chair, a really good book and a drink with an umbrella in it.  When my family thinks of a vacation, they think we need to be doing SOMETHING every second of the day!

We spent Sunday morning driving around, taking in the sights.  This is a really interesting town and the scenery is gorgeous.  Our mountains in Arkansas can't compare to the mountains here...amazing.

Our first stop was an overlook on Mulholland Drive.

After lunch, it was on to Dodger Stadium for a Dodger/Angels game.  It was so much fun!  Ok, the game was kind of boring until the last play of the last inning but the people-watching opportunities were FABULOUS!  Oh, and did I mention the garlic french fries?!

So much fun!

We all fell into the bed early (9:00 here but our bodies are still on Little Rock time) so, of course, I was awake at 5:30 a.m.  I started my day off with a long run in 57 degree temps.  Oh my, now that was nice.  How long has it been since we've had those temps in Arkansas?

This morning, we met with Cole's Business Manager, Katrina.  We have communicated with her by phone and e-mail for the past several months and it was nice to be able to meet her in person.  She is super nice and she has six interviews (so far) scheduled with agents for Cole for Tuesday and Wednesday.  I think Spencer and I will do a little sight-seeing while Brad and Cole brave the world of acting.

After lunch, we headed downtown to the Staples Center.  Spencer wanted to lay eyes on the home of the Lakers.  We were hopeful that they were giving tours of the arena but no such luck.

Then we headed across the street to the ESPNZone.  They film SportsCenter and some other sportsy shows there but it was a no-go on being able to tour the facilities.  Still, it was pretty cool to even be able to be in the building.

On the way back to the hotel, we decided to drive down Hollywood Blvd.  Pretty crazy...lots of people, roads blocked off because they were filming a movie, and did I mention lots of people?!

I was glad to get back to the hotel and relax.  We walked across the street and had authentic LA pizza (fresh veggies & sauce, no meat) and then we decided to stay in for the night.  So nice!

Can't wait to see what's on the agenda for tomorrow...

What time zone are we in?

Considering we returned from the Eastern time zone on Tuesday and now I'm in the Pacific time zone, it's no wonder I had problems going to sleep last night.  Thank goodness for a little vino and Simply Sleep.

So, we're up (early), have had breakfast and are making our plan for today.  The weather is gorgeous and cool (a balmy 64 degrees!) and we are heading to Dodger stadium for a game.

Pictures and updates to follow.....

An Update....FINALLY!

I know, I know, you can't believe I am finally updating the blog!  Believe me, the grief I have received from Spencer for not updating my blog for the past two months has been much worse than the grief I have gotten from any of you.  He is ruthless.

I promised to update my blog everyday for our entire trip in Los Angeles.  We arrived this morning at 10:00 am which means we left our house at 4:30 a.m.!  When we arrived at the hotel, everyone, except Spencer, slept for three hours!  Spencer is tough as nails and I will probably have to drug him in order for him to go to sleep before midnight.

We are in LA because Cole has eight (so far) interviews with local agents.  This has been a work in progress over several months.  We have no idea what the future holds but we pray that God will lead us in the right direction.

Hope you are all doing well.  We love you all,
Marilyn
